3 Self-Love Actions to Take Every Other Week

When you’re a caregiver for a family member, it can be difficult to find time to take care of yourself. However, it’s important to remember that self-care is crucial to your well-being!

That’s why we suggest carving out time to indulge in biweekly self-care activities. Here are three things you can do every other week to show yourself some care and kindness.

Treat Yourself to Flowers

Too often, people wait for other people to buy them flowers–why not show yourself love by buying them for yourself?

Not only are they nice to look at and sweet-smelling, but research shows that having flowers in your home leads to increased happiness, lower depression and anxiety levels, and even better interpersonal relationships.

So, when you buy yourself flowers, you’re showing yourself compassion not only with a physical gift, but also with the gift of added beauty, joy, and energy.

Find Rest and Relaxation at the Spa

Who doesn’t love a spa day?! Booking yourself a trip to the spa is the ultimate way to reach your most pampered, relaxed, and restful state. A biweekly trip to the spa can do wonders for your mental–and physical–well-being.

You can stick with a service you love, or you can mix up your treatments now and then! Choose from stress-relieving massages, beautifying facials, relaxing pedicures, and more.

If you can’t afford to visit the spa regularly, consider having an at-home spa day instead! One of the best parts is that you can invite loved ones to join you in this relaxing activity, right from the comfort of your own home.

Pick Up a New Book

There’s nothing like the smell of a new book–especially when it’s one you’ve been dying to read!

Not only is buying a book a good way to justify some good old-fashioned retail therapy, but reading a book can also reduce stress and burnout.

Additionally, bookstores can be extremely relaxing places–which means even the act of browsing the shelves can bring you a sense of peace. That’s why buying a new book a few times a month is one of the best tips we can offer when it comes to self-care!
